About the Research Capacity Building Webinar Series

The Center presents its Research Capacity Building Webinar Series to advance interdisciplinary community-engaged research that will inform programs and policies to better serve African American children and families.

The webinars will build research capacity and recommend methods to conduct research relevant to the ACF program and policy goals, and communicate community-engaged research approaches to a broad audience of students, community leaders, practitioners, researchers, and state and federal policymakers.

Objectives

The objectives of the webinar series are to describe:

  • Relevant research methods that can be used to define and measure the needs, assets, and experiences of children and families, specifically those with low incomes.
  • Community-engaged and other research that assesses utilization of TANF/poverty alleviation, Head Start/Early Head Start, and child care financial assistance programs.
  • Promising strategies and approaches in TANF/poverty alleviation, Head Start/Early Head Start, and child care financial assistance programs.
  • Effective strategies for communicating and disseminating relevant research findings, specifically in areas aligned with ACF’s and The Center’s research priorities.
